Sometimes I remind myself that I almost skipped the party, that I almost went to a different college, that the whim of a minute could have changed everything and everyone. Our lives, so settled, so specific, are built on happenstance.

Pay day/bonus day means - Treating the people I love, a vinyl splurge on Banquet Records, finally getting the jacket and top I’ve been after from Drop Dead Clothing, booking and paying for my MOT (good luck baby) and putting some money away into my savings account for the first time in 2014.

Day 17) Rarest record in your collection

I’m still fairly new to vinyl collecting and it’s only recently I’ve had more money so I don’t have too many rare ones.

It appears that my clear with silver sparkle/glitter copy of Awakened by As I Lay Dying was limited to 200 so this wins.

Unlike certain other bands whose singers are in jail, I can still listen to this lot. Not condoning what Tim did in the slightest but they made some good music..

Mornings.

Mornings.

I’m one of those people that once I’ve associated a song with a certain person or event, that’s it. Apparently time doesn’t change that either.

Day 16) Album from a band that broke up

Ok, I’m cheating because Anberlin haven’t technically broken up but this band deserves a lot. I can’t really remember how I found this album but this, and all their others helped me as a teenager and I still love them now. New music from them will be missed but I’ll be sure to carry on listening to them.

I picked this up on a past Record Store Day.
